ABOUT ME

I began writing in my early twenties while working as a research scientist. Running atherosclerotic plaque samples through a temperamental EPR machine (I called her Epee. She liked that) for almost 30 min per sample gave me plenty of time to think about stories and write – particularly as Epee hated being left alone when running low-temperature samples (liquid nitrogen-type low temperatures).
Although I always had lots stories in my head, for much of my early life I was convinced I couldn’t write. After all, I practically failed high school English! It took me a while to convince myself to just have a go. No one ever had to read anything I wrote.
Without realising, I struck upon my passion. The more I wrote, the more I wanted to write. For years I pour my ideas onto (digital) paper. Inspiration was everywhere. My life. The news. Imagining what it would be like to go through what others had.
My first book, Marble Road, was a journey into my soul, combining personal experiences with fiction. While most of Alexa’s hardships are her own, we share an emotional heart, and her development through the four-book series in many ways mirrors my own emotional development from trouble teen through to adulthood.
All my books have a strong focus on character and relationship development, featuring many bold, complex and fierce female figures.
The artworks for all my covers and on this website come from my own photography, which often helps to inspire my stories. There is rarely anything more glorious than the awesome power of nature.
